OMBUDSMEN ON THE MOVE

Ombudsmen are the spouses, boyfriends and friends of club members,  They  actively support our and scholarship programs

Prostate Screening and Awareness Program

Methodist Health System will offer a FREE prostate screening and awareness program on October 25, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Kirkwood Temple CME Church, 1440 Sunny Glenn Drive, Dallas, Texas 75232. Men 50 and older are encouraged to be screened. All men 40 or older with a history of prostate cancer should also be screened. Encourage all the men in your life to get screened.

Holiday Lights Tour

Get on the Bus!! The Ombudsmen Holiday Lights Tour was a success last year. Fun was had by all.  The ombudsment used this event to raise scholarship funds for young people aspiring to go to college.  So……..by popular demand, this year’s tour is scheduled for December 13th. Reserve your seat for $20. Leave the driving and the gas concerns to someone else. Get on the Bus!!!

Educational Program

Urban schools are a particular concern of NANBPWC. This year  local clubs are asked to develop educational programs specifically designed to address the educational achievement gap of Black males from middle through high schools during program year 2008-2009. The Association’s Ombudsmen are asked to assist in these educational programs as mentors or tutor to our young Black males whenever possible. More details will be provided as developed. If you want to assist with this program please contact Morris and Althea Carlisle.
